- June 17, 1946: Frank Colman was purchased from the Pirates by the New York Yankees.[1]
- September 25, 1946: The Pirates traded $35,000 to the Oakland Oaks for Wally Westlake. The Pirates completed the deal by sending Johnny Hutchings to the Oaks on December 5.[2]
