Positions by round

This table lists the positions of teams after each week of matches. In order to preserve the chronological evolution, any postponed matches are not included to the round at which they were originally scheduled, but added to the full round they were played immediately afterwards. For example, if a match is scheduled for matchday 13, but then postponed and played between days 16 and 17, it will be added to the standings for day 16. The final standings after matchday 34 in this table may not reflect what the clubs actually qualified for if a Bundesliga club wins the DFB-Pokal. For more information, see the full table and a full explanation.

Position changes

If a Bundesliga club wins the DFB-Pokal, the qualification in the table changes. The following table explains all possible scenarios.

If the club wins the DFB-Pokal and finishes in... Then they qualify for the... And the qualification changes are...
1st to 3rd UEFA Champions League group stage 6th: UEFA Europa League group stage
7th: UEFA Europa League third qualifying round
4th UEFA Champions League play-off round
