Al-Meshkhab is an Iraqi city and capital of Al-Meshkhab district, situated in Najaf Governorate 35 km south of Najaf,230 km south west of Baghdad. The city located on Al-Meshkhab Channel (derived from the Euphrates river, its length 25 km).[1] Total population Shia Islam belonging to Arabic tribes such as (Alzurfy), (Muhanya), and (Al-Ghazali). The city has been established first time as a village in 1916 during Ottoman Iraq era ,promoted to subdistrict, finally upgraded to district capital in 2014.[2]
