Andre Coleman (born September 19, 1972) is a former professional American football wide receiver in the National Football League. He attended Hickory High School in Hermitage, Pennsylvania playing on the AAA state championship team. He played collegiately at Kansas State University. He later went on to play five seasons for the San Diego Chargers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Seattle Seahawks.
Coleman's primary role during his career was as a kick returner, gaining 4,466 yards and two touchdowns returning kickoffs. He also added 384 yards and a touchdown returning punts, and caught 43 passes for 602 yards and three touchdowns. As a rookie, Coleman played in Super Bowl XXIX with the Chargers and set several Super Bowl records in the game: most kickoff returns (8), most return yards (244), and most total yards (244). Fifty-eight of those yards came in the final play of the game, as he returned the final punt of the game at the San Diego 7 and then ran to the San Francisco 35 before time ran out, just as the 49ers were celebrating what would eventually be their fifth Super Bowl victory, which was assured when referee Jerry Markbreit declared the punt dead, preserving the final score of that Super Bowl as 49-26 in favor of the 49ers.
