Bass (/ˈbæs/ BASS) is a name shared by many different species of fish. The term encompasses both freshwater and marine species, all belonging to the large order Perciformes, or perch-like fishes, and the word bass comes from Middle English bars, meaning "perch".[1]

Large mouth bass and small mouth bass are the most popular game fish in North America.

It is also very popular fishing in South Africa where the large mouth bass is often found in lakes and dams.

When fishing preferably use lures rather than actual bait such as worms or corn. Lures with bright colours and tail like bits are very helpful.
