He is a clinical instructor and professor of oral implantology at The Maurice H. Misch holds more than 10 patents and is the co-inventor of the BioHorizons Maestro Implant System.[3]

In 1999, he authored the text, Contemporary Implant Dentistry,[4] the first and second editions of which are the #1 and #2 best selling dentistry books in the world.[3] He operates the Misch International Implant Institute, as a training center for dentists seeking to improve their skills in these techniques. To date, it has trained over 2,000 dentists.[3]

Through a special affiliation arrangement with the institute, first year postgraduate periodontology students at Maurice H. In tandem, Misch was appointed as Clinical Professor and Director of Oral Implantology in the Department of Periodontology at the dental school.[5] Jon Suzuki, director of the periodontal program at Temple Dental School, and Thomas Rams, chairman of the same program, are both on surgical faculty at the institute.[6]
