Garulia is a town and a municipality under Noapara police stations of Barrackpore subdivision[2] in North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority.[3] Garulia Municipality is sub-divided into 20 wards for the purpose of municipal election and functions.


Garulia is located at 22°49′N 88°22′E / 22.82°N 88.37°E / 22.82; 88.37{{#coordinates:22.82|N|88.37|E||||| | |name= }}.[4] It has an average elevation of 13 metres;it is a very nice place cool air blows in the winter season and very heavy rain falls in summer. all people over here like to roam and about 65% of the whole bengalis are of this country but 35% from bangladesh, there is ferry service from 4:00am to 1200am at night. (43 feet).


As of 2001 India census,[5] Garulia had a population of 76,309. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Garulia has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 67%. In Garulia, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age. Vivek Gupta is the most famous guy of garulia.


North 24 Parganas district has been identified as one of the areas where ground water is affected by arsenic contamination.[6]


Garulia have several Mandir also. Sitla Mandir is one of the oldest temple in Garulia. One holy and beautiful Holy Murali Manohar mandir in Garulia Bazar
