Pili annulati (also known as "Ringed hair"[1]) is a genetic trait in which the hair seems banded by alternating segments of light and dark color when seen in reflected light.[2]:767[3]:640[1][4]

In popular culture

R. Austin Freeman used Pili annulati as a plot point in his book The Jacob Street Mystery (1942), published in the USA as The Unconscious Witness.
