Roy Hall (born December 8, 1983) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Ohio State.

Hall was also a member of the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions.

Early years

Hall played high school football at Brush High School in Lyndhurst, Ohio.

College career

Hall had six catches for 69 yards his freshman year. He continued to improve during his sophomore season racking up 17 catches for 230 yards. In his junior season he had 16 catches for 134 yards. In his senior season, he ended up with 13 catches for 147 yards. He played in the 2007 BCS National Championship Game. he is infamously known for accidentally spraining Ted Ginn Jr.'s ankle after the first kickoff of the national championship game.

Professional career

Indianapolis Colts

Hall did not record a single catch in his rookie season. During a week three game against the Houston Texans, Hall was involved in a dangerous special-teams collision with Texans defensive tackle Cedric Killings. The collision damaged a vertebra in Killings' neck, ending his season, and ultimately leading him to retire. Hall was injured as well, and the injury ultimately caused him to be placed on Injured Reserve, ending Hall's season after only three games.[1]

Hall played in four games for the Colts in 2008, catching one pass for nine yards and recording three special teams tackles.

Hall was waived/injured by the Colts on August 13, 2009 and reverted to injured reserve. He was waived on May 3, 2010.

New Orleans Saints

Hall signed with the New Orleans Saints on May 12, 2010. He was waived/injured on June 15, and subsequently placed on injured reserve. He was released from injured reserve with an injury settlement on June 21.[2]

Omaha Nighthawks

Hall was signed by the Omaha Nighthawks in 2010.

Detroit Lions

Hall was signed to the Detroit Lions practice squad on December 14, 2010. He was not re-signed following the 2010 season.

Second stint with Nighthawks

Hall was re-signed by the Omaha Nighthawks on July 15, 2011.[3]
